Q: What is a Medical Neighborhood?
A: A Medical Neighborhood is a comprehensive selection of the most highly qualified doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers in a specific geographic area. They are hand-picked to cover the procedures and conditions of Quince members.
Q: How is a doctor, hospital or healthcare provider determined to be “highly qualified”?
A: Quince has access to precise, current and proprietary data to pinpoint the doctors and hospitals for each individual’s Medical Neighborhood. We ensure that selected doctors and hospitals have high performance in quality, patient safety and survival rates, and low rates of complications and hospital readmissions.
Q: Can I keep my primary care doctor?
A: Yes, you can keep your current primary care doctor. Your Quince Care Advisor will work with your current doctor to understand your referral needs and then help you choose a best-in-class specialist, all while keeping your primary care physician connected.
Q: Can I choose a new primary care doctor?
A: Yes, if you want to choose a new primary doctor, your Quince Care Advisor will connect you with a Quince Medical Home.
Q: What is a Quince Medical Home?
A: Medical Homes are primary care doctors designated by Quince who use Care Advisors to refer members within the Quince Medical Neighborhood. Your Quince Medical Home provides exceptional patient-centered primary care and costs you less than other primary care doctors because they are paid upfront, in-full and in cash at the time of service.
Q: Do I have to use the provider(s) the Care Advisor recommends?
A: No, you can choose to go to another physician in your plan’s existing medical provider network.
Q: What if I can’t pay the full amount for my care up front and in full?
A: You do not have to participate in the payment at time of service option of the Medical Neighborhood. It is available for you to take advantage of whenever you can pay for care up-front and in cash, and it offers at least 50% lower out-of-pocket costs. Even if you don’t pay upfront, a Care Advisor will still help you pinpoint, select and schedule top-quality specialty care.
Q: How does Quince impact my current health insurance benefits?
A: Quince is a free, additional service your employer offers to make the most effective use of your current health insurance benefits and medical provider network. Your current health insurance benefits remain unchanged, but are enhanced when you seek care through a Care Advisor.
Q: How do I communicate with the Care Advisor?
A: You can easily communicate with your Care Advisor by phone, email or chat.
Q: Does it cost anything when I contact a Care Advisor?
A: No, there is no cost to you when you speak with a Care Advisor.
Q: How much money will I save by working with a Care Advisor?
A: You will save 50% or more on your out-of-pocket expenses.
Q: How is it possible to get the best providers at such reduced prices?
A: You save by using highly reliable, top quality providers selected as part of your Medical Neighborhood who are paid in full at the time of your service. When providers get paid up front, it significantly reduces their expenses, and they can charge less for their same high quality services.
Q: How and when will I know the cost of my service through Quince?
A: The cost will be presented to you for review and payment in advance of your medical services.
Q: Do I receive bills or collection calls from any of the Quince providers involved in my care?
A: No. Because you have paid at the time of service, the doctor or hospital has no need to generate a claim or bill. If you receive a bill in error, just contact your Care Advisor and they will correct it for you.
Q: What form of payment does Quince accept?
A: In order to participate in the payment at time of service feature, you will first need to be set up on our payment portal, similar to PayPal® or Apple Pay. Our payment portal makes it possible for you to pay the full price when you receive care – your portion and your employer’s portion. Your Care Advisor can guide you through this very simple process.
